Board Meeting Minutes

August 9, 2007

The board met at Adtran, Inc. located in Research Park. The following board representatives were present: Amy Heard (President), Georgia Wertman (President-Elect), Marsha Dollarhide (Secretary), John Hightower (Treasurer), Mike Crossley (Membership), Mike Jones (Communications) and Gloria Stover (Past President).

Call to Order

Amy called the meeting to order. The July board meeting minutes were distributed and approved by consensus, with minor edits noted.

Treasurer’s Report

John submitted chapter Cash Flow report for year-to-date through July, which was also approved by consensus.

Copies of the Membership flyer will be made available at the Train-the-Trainer event.

Mike will send out a Membership “call list”, for use in calling potential Train-the-Trainer participants. Deadline for placing telephone calls is August 14. Those volunteering to make calls are Dianne, Mike, Amy, John, Georgia, Mike C., and Marsha.

Communications

Reminder postcards will be mailed out on August 10th directly through the postal service.

Notices for our Train-the-Trainer event will also be sent to The Huntsville Times and the Redstone Rocket.

Diane will submit “talking points” to John for advertising the Train-the-Trainer event on radio station, WLRH. Participant handouts for the train-the-trainer event will be copied and collated by Dianne and Mike.

Programs

Lucy Gardner and Karen Wells were officially appointed to the Programs Committee.

New Business

Amy mentioned the ASTD web portal and availability for chapter hosting. This subject will be explored further at a future board meeting.
