Board Meeting Minutes: September 27, 2005
Sheraton Airport Inn, 1000 Glenn Hearn Blvd. Huntsville, AL
Lori King-Taylor, President, convened meeting at 1:10 p.m. The purpose of the special meeting was to discuss the upcoming Train the Trainer event scheduled for October 27, 2005
Attendees: Lori King-Taylor, Nancy Hodges, John Hightower, Rhonda Williams, Cindy Dodd, Amy Heard and Debi Trumbull. Gloria Stover was absent.
A list of speakers was finalized. They included:
Wendy Cantrell Action Learning
Jack Lee E-Learning
Gary Huckaby Keynote Luncheon- Humor in Training
Ted Gulas Leadership Training
John Bentley Building a Foundation for Success
· The $300 required to compensate Gary Huckaby for his presentation was approved
· An registration form will be added to our website
· Reminder postcards will be sent out prior to the close of registration
· A reminder will also be placed in our newsletter
· Extreme Makeover- Training Edition theme approved
· Committee members were reminded of their responsibilities and lauded for their work thus far. The committees are:
o Theme & Decorations- Lori & Debi
o Technical- Nancy
o Programs & Speakers- Gloria, Rhonda & Amy
o Registration- Cindy & John
In other business:
National Chapter
· John discussed with our national representative the problem we are having with receiving checks for dues that have no identifying information attached to them to indicate for whom the payment is made
· We will add a National ASTD application form to our website
· Cindy reported that the system for reporting National members is much improved and that she has not experienced any problems with it
Newsletter
· Need articles by September 30th- Rhonda will get as much done before she leaves on vacation
· Need to continue to push advertising for both for-profit and nonprofit organizations
The meeting dismissed at1: 45 p.m. The next meeting will be held on Thursday, October 13th.
