Board Meeting

Location: Lanier, Ford, Shaver, & Payne

Attendees: J. Hightower, M. Hubbard, R. Asta, N. Hodges, D. Trumbull, G. Stover, C. Lord

Minutes: Action: Lori to provide minutes from February board meeting

Treasurers Report:

  • The new account was opened at Regions.

    • Balance = $707.57

  • The old account at Colonial is still open

    • Balance = $2169.10

  • There is an additional $60.00 in petty cash and $105.00 in Accounts Receivable.

  • Total Assets = $ 3,041.67

Membership Chair:

  • Current # of local members = 30, Current # of Local & National Members = 12

  • No new members for the month of February.

  • Gloria has started a Visitor Registry to gather contact information to follow up with visitors

Regarding membership

  • The chapter informational brochure will be edited.

    • Action: Each board member should submit "A Benefit of Membership" to Gloria

    • Action: Gloria will make other updates to the brochure and will provide a draft of an updated brochure

Programs:

  • March = Lunch & Learn Presentation

  • April = Rapid Improvement Performance (John Bentley)

  • May = Office Tips & Tricks (Jackie Morrison)

  • June = Mentoring

Communications/ Newsletter Publication/ Website:

  • The board discussed the possibility of creating a membership directory and providing to all paid members.

  • The board discussed Ads and how they can be used as a benefit to attract others to ASTD.

Evaluation

  • The evaluations for the ROI seminar with Ann Phillips was evaluated by 14 ASTD members and 4 visitors

  • The average scores under the Content section ranged from 3.94 to 4.61.

  • The average scores under Presenter ranged from 4.61 to 4.78

  • There were many positive comments on this presentation

  • Suggested Future topics:

    • Coaching, more on ROI and Trainer Career Development options

New Business

  • New business for the next meeting

    • Finalize the budget

    • Begin laying out a project plan for a 2005 Showcase Event
