Board Meeting

June 3, 2003

 

 

Location:            Lanier, Ford, Shaver, & Payne

Minutes             Reviewed and Approved

 

Treasurers Report

  Ø No treasurer’s report at board meeting this month.  Will be sent later.  Ronda will simplify

               financials for uploading on website and only do a detailed report twice per year. 

 

Programs

  Ø  Discussed success of last month’s program – due to advanced notifications through the

                 newsletter and also good topic and speaker.  Need to get more detailed information each month

    from speakers regarding their topic and how it relates to training arena.

  Ø  Other program ideas were discussed:  Rebecca Reynolds or Lockheed Martin (past ASTD

    member); Barbara Dowdell – “Power Talk” topic; James Foster; Irma Tudor; field trip to HH

    Corporate University (possibly in December); and field trip to Early Works Museum. 

 

Membership

Ø                   John has cleaned up mailing list and deleted 56 names (visitors and out-of-towners, etc.)  The mail list is now at around 140 names

Ø                   6 letters sent to “expired” members for renewal opportunities

Ø                   Lori is still working on the Member Survey

Ø                   Email survey was sent asking IF people wish to remain on snail mail and/or email listing

 

Coordination of Newsletter Publication/ Website

Ø                   Cindy Dodd is investigating her company participating as our newsletter “corporate sponsor”  Carolyn will follow up

Ø                   Newsletter need to go out earlier due to the fact that it impacts our attendance at monthly meetings

 

Old Business

  Ø        Carolyn and Ronda will note and record “number of visitors” and new recruits each member gets.

      A drawing will be held for the TOTE REMOTE as a prize for the person who brings the most

 

New Business

  Ø     None noted. 

 

Outstanding Action Items

  Ø  Ronda –  send monthly treasury report to board and for website posting.  Ronda will bring banner

                 to monthly meetings

  Ø  Brenda – get more pre-program information on topics and speakers for newsletter each month

  Ø  Carolyn – investigate corporate sponsorship for newsletter

  Ø  Wendy – arrange for newsletter mailing during vacation

 

Next Board Meeting

  Ø The next board meeting will be July 1st at 11:30 a.m. @ Lanier, Ford, Shaver and Payne
