2006 Goals



Leadership

  1. Provide chapter leaders and members with necessary guidance to fulfill their roles.
  2. Meet all of the ASTD Chapter Operating Requirements (CORE).
  3. Appoint a Nominating Committee by August 2006 to recruit 2007 officers.

Membership

  1. Retain and recruit new members.
  2. Develop a recognition program.
  3. Distribute membership directory to chapter members.
  4. Maintain membership database and mailing list with current information.

Programs

  1. Continue to provide high-quality monthly programs and professional development programs.
  2. Increase attendance at chapter events.
  3. Schedule an evening program at least once this year.
  4. Coordinate events with other organizations (such as NASHRM, STC, WEDC, BNI, EWI).

Communication

  1. Communicate chapter events and membership benefits with chapter members and other interested persons through newsletter, meeting announcements, email, and website.
  2. Publish quarterly newsletter, continuing to add pertinent articles and other information of interest to training professionals and chapter members.
  3. Continually improve chapter website.
  4. Ensure mailing and e-mail lists are current.

Public Relations

  1. Provide ASTD business cards for board members with CHIP#.
  2. Publish meeting announcements in The Huntsville Times.

Member Relations

  1. Survey members for feedback on membership benefits.
  2. Solicit feedback at each meeting with a program survey.

Finance

  1. Advise members of ASTD's Chapter Incentive Program (CHIP), a revenue sharing program using our CHIP#CH9022.
  2. Conduct a 2005 audit of financial records.
  3. Complete a risk-management assessment.
