Learn about the importance of oral and written communication in the workplace, including an exercise on perspective.
In this program, we'll discuss how that fits into your role as trainers and presenters of information. The second part of the presentation will focus on the importance of children's literacy today and how it holds a direct connection to the future of business.
Sprinkled throughout will be examples of effective presentation/training techniques and a checklist of 5 secrets to effective training and presentations.
About the Presenter
Author, trainer, and literacy consultant, Cathy Puett Miller AKA The Literacy Ambassador®, spreads a strong consistent message to educators, families, children and the business community: Reading can be fun, powerful and practical. Indeed, Mrs. Miller views reading and writing as tools for life and her enthusiasm for those tools is contagious.
Cathy received the coveted 2003 National Silver Award for investigative educational reporting from Parenting Publications of America and has been writing extensively on the world wide web for more than 12 years. Her most recent projects involve authoring books for parents and educators of 3-6 year olds, presenting at national, regional and state conferences, promoting the growth of parent involvement through literacy, creating a pilot United school preparedness initiative (Fun Learning Moments™), and conducting a national research study on at-home reading. Although much of her work focuses on children’s and family literacy, Cathy also teaches writing classes using a streamlined version of the 6+1 Traits of Writing.
